Welcome to the Southern Golf League, where fostering competitive spirit and camaraderie among male golfers is our mission. Our league is dedicated to promoting top-tier match play for golfers with a handicap index ranging from 5-15, all across the South of England. The league was formed in 2025 and consists of 5 clubs from Sussex playing each other home and away in a team of 12 and playing six 4BBB games per match.

Dear Club Representative,

I am excited to introduce the Southern Golf League, a brand-new competitive golf league launched in 2025.

In our inaugural season, five clubs from the Sussex region have joined to compete in a structured tournament format, and we are now looking to expand and invite more clubs to join us.

Our goal is to grow the league into a multi-division competition, introducing a promotion and relegation system, ensuring exciting and competitive golf for years to come.

League Format & Key Details:
• Handicap Eligibility: Handicap index 5–15 (as legislated by Golf England)
• Match Format: Four-ball better-ball, 90% difference of handicap (best player plays off scratch)
• Tournament Structure: Each club plays 4 home and 4 away matches against division competitors
• Entry Fee: £50 per club for the season
• Team Requirements: Each club must field a team of 12 players per match
• Reciprocal Golf Fees: All participating clubs agree to reciprocal green fees
• Club Representation: Each club must nominate a representative and adhere to tournament rules
• League Growth: Clubs can participate in the tournament committee to shape future seasons
• Hosting Privileges: Clubs can organize additional events within league guidelines
